Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Mary Belle Osborne Peterson, age 83, of Sylvania, GA, formerly of Swainsboro, GA, on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 23, 2018, at 2:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Frank Osborne officiating.

Interment will follow in the Williams Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery near Kite, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home  Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 1:00 PM till time of service.

Pallbearers are Grandsons:  John Jordan Jr., Ben McTier Sr., Ryan McTier, Jonathan Harless, Jason McDaniel, and Lee Flanders

Mrs. Peterson was born December 7, 1935 in Chatsworth, GA to the late Herbert Monroe and Elizabeth Carroll Osborne.  She loved sewing, gardening, crocheting, cooking and spending time laughing with her beloved family.  Mrs. Peterson was a member of the New Life Baptist Church in Metter, GA and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her daughter, Katherine Jordan; and brothers, Robert Osborne, Floyd Osborne, Jimmy Osborne and Herman Osborne.

Survivors include:

Her Husband: James Peterson of Sylvania, GA

Three Daughters: Barbara McDaniel Hickfang (David) of Lilburn, GA, Janice McDaniel Morris (Stephen) of Morganton, NC and Kandi McDaniel Flanders (O. L.) of Kite, GA

One Son: Ernest McDaniel Jr. (Wendy) of Macon, GA

Four Sisters: Sara Singletary of Fitzgerald, GA, Annie Duren and Dorothy Randall both of Tifton, GA, and Martha Howard (Paul) of Chatsworth, GA

Three Brothers: Ray Osborne (Nancy) of Chatsworth, GA, Frank Osborne (Louise) of Cave Spring, GA and Bobby Osborne (Rhetta) of Loganville, GA

10 Grandchildren, 24 Great-Grandchildren, and 7 Great Great-Grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Aunt Mary. May she Rest on High in the arms of the Lord our God. I've only known Mary the time she was married to my Uncle (James). Always made me feel welcome. She will be missed. Beautiful services for her....most moving I've ever experienced.
