Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors, announces the death of Mrs. Betty L. Altman Rodriguez, age 88, on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at her home in Wadley.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday February 24, 2024 at 12:00 Noon, in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Joey Lamb officiating.
The family will receive friends and visitors from 10:00 AM until funeral time at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael Crosby, Colin Hazelwood, Jonathon Lacey, Michael Jolly, Macayla Eason, Angie Lamb and Jacob Lacey.
Born in Dellwood, she was the daughter of Grady Sol and Mary Alice Bryant Altman.
Betty lived many years in Savannah before returning to Wadley in the year 2000. Betty adored people. She never met a stranger and loved conversation. She loved to laugh, tell jokes and stories and would occasionally get caught telling tall tales. Family was of the greatest value to her. Betty always made over each and every family member, especially the grandchildren. She made them feel special and important no matter the circumstance. Betty was a talented seamstress and would make clothes and pillows for family members. She loved flowers and gardening was her passion.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carlos Rodriguez; a son, Lloyd W. Lamb; sisters, Laverne Jones, Ovetta Altman and Matalice Altman; brothers, Alvie, Lanier, Danny and Roger Altman.
Survivors include:
Daughter: Cathy Lamb of Garden City.
Brother: Kenneth Altman of Atlanta.
Grandchildren: Joey Lamb (Denice), Angie (Jennifer) Lamb, Kateherine Michelle (Michael) Jolly, Michael Crosby (Donita) and Candace Marrilynn Williams (Gabrielle).
Twelve Great Grandchildren.
Ten Great-Great Grandchildren.
Many Nieces, Nephews and extended family.
