Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. William James "Jim" Curry, age 78, of Swainsboro, GA on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, GA

Funeral services will be Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Swainsboro First United Methodist Church with Rev. David Unkles and Rev. Wayne DeFore officiating.

Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dellwood GA.

The family will receive friends, at the church, Saturday February 17, 2018 from 9:30 till time of service.

Pallbearers are Johnny Price, Donny Garrett, Hal Hall, Bill Price, Aaron Clark, John Torpy, Ashley Denney and Joey Hood.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Leroy Williams Sunday School Class and Greg Newsome.

Mr. Curry was born January 31, 1940 in Dublin, Laurens County, GA to the late Marion Dunaway and Ella Mae Garrett  Curry and lived the majority of his life in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA.  He was a graduate of the Swainsboro High School Class of 1957, served as president of his graduating class, later attended Georgia Southern receiving a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and was a member of Kappa Phi Kappa Fraternity. Mr. Curry was Co-owner/operator of Badcock Home Furnishing (formerly The Home Shop) for 40 plus years.  He served on the Board of First Federal Saving and Loan, was a member of Rotary International, and Gideons International.  Mr. Curry was a active member of the Swainsboro First United Methodist Church serving on numerous committees and a member of the Leroy Williams Sunday School Class.

Survivors include:

His Wife of  56 years:  Cherry Kea Curry of Swainsboro, GA

One Son: Marc D. Curry (Kerry) of Swainsboro, GA 

Two Grandchildren: Lynnsey R. Curry Denney (Ashley) and Cassidy LeElla Curry.

Several close cousins and extended family.

Cherry and family, I am so sorry I was not able to attend the service today. Jim was a very fine man and I know you will miss him terribly. Please know you have been in my prayers and thoughts throughout this time of sorrow.
