Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Ms. Melissa Garrett Coker, age 64, of Swainsboro, GA, on Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at the Emanuel Medical Center in Swainsboro, GA following an extended illness.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at 10:00 AM, at the Wadley City Cemetery, with Rev. Curt Grimm officiating and remarks by Ms. Vanda Guthrie.

Ms. Coker was born in Columbus, GA and had lived in Swainsboro for the past 12 years.  She was a homemaker and a Baptist.  Ms. Coker was a wonderful Grandmother, Sister, and Daughter.  She was preceded in death by her Father, Jesse Thomas Garrett.

Survivors include:

Her Mother:  Mrs. Betty Edenfield Smith of Swainsboro, GA

One Daughter: Jessica Coker of Columbus, GA

One Brother:  Thomas B. Garrett (Cheryl) of Swainsboro, GA

Two Grandchildren:  Jackson Garrett Bullington and Sydney K. Smith both of Swainsboro, GA

Nephew:  Thomas P. Garrett of Swainsboro, GA

Garrett and Sydney I am so very sorry for your loss. I thought the world of your Grandmother she was such a sweet and kind person. Please know that y'all will be in my prayers. May God wrap His loving arms around y'all and give you comfort.
