Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Bennie S. Garrett, age 89, of Swainsboro, GA on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at the Scott Health and Rehab after an extended illness.
Funeral services are Thursday, October 20th, at 2 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ray Freeman officiating.
Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 PM.
Pallbearers are Grandchildren and Nephews.
Mrs. Garrett, born in Stillmore, GA, was a private sitter and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Sadie Me Hostilo Sowell; sisters, Walline Sowell, Mary Dell Portwood, Louise Luke and Elizabeth Oreste and her husband, Frank Garrett.
Survivors include:
One Daughter: Judy Garrett of Reidsville, GA
5 Grandchildren: Heather Lumpkin, Robert Frankin McKinzie, Nicole McKinzie, Jesse McKinzie and Houston McKinzie
5 Great-Grandchildren: Brack Fagler, Brody Fagler, Gabriella McKinzie, Dustyn McKinzie and Jarrison Deese
