Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Thomas Edward "Big E" Greenway, age 84, of Swainsboro, GA on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 7, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the Peebles Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hawhammock Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM

Pallbearers are Kent Haskins, Jeff Greenway, Tommy Greenway, Dale Greenway, Tim Hendley and Timmy Bell.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Roger Hooks, Lynwood Hooks, R. W. Hooks, Donald Hooks, Ray Bargeron, Mike Cowart, Gary Cowart, Joel Cowart, Emory Greenway and Virgil Greenway.

Mr. Greenway was born January 16, 1931 in Canoochee, Emanuel County, GA to the late Thomas Franklin and Hattie Joiner Greenway. After retiring from Twin City Manufacturing with 34 years of service, as supervisor in the finishing and shipping department, he also retired from Ogeechee Behavioral Health. Mr. Greenway was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeanette Bargeron and Louise Bishop and brothers, Fed Greenway, Rufus Greenway, Warren Greenway and Troy Greenway. 

Survivors include:

His Wife of 42 years: Joann Greenway of Swainsboro, GA

Two Daughters: Michele Turner (Kelvin) of Canoochee, GA and Donna Haddock (Dr. Mark) of Swainsboro, GA

Two Sons: Tony Greenway (Donna) of Vidalia, GA and Randy Crooms  (Susan) of Chapin, SC

Two Sisters: Norma Hooks of Swainsboro, GA and Marie Coglin of Midville, GA

One Brother: Walter Greenway (Clarenia) of Swainsboro, GA

14 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Joann and Greenway family, so sorry to hear about Edwards passing, but be assured he is in a better place. My sympathy and condolences to all of you, I know God will comfort you all at this sad time in your lives. RIP Edward
