Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of William Frank “Billy” Rich Jr., age 61, of Twin City, GA, on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at 1 P.M. in the Mt. Shady Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Moore officiating and Rev. Jim Harrell assisting.

The family will receive friends at Mt. Shady Baptist Church one hour prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum with Full Masonic Rites. 

Pallbearers are Frank Canady, Wayne “NOOT” Irvin, Thomas Sconyers, Annon Forehand, Timmy Bell, Jerry Caraway, Brent Clifton, and John Moseley, Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Blaine Burrell, Smith Edenfield, Bo George, Will Sullivan, Hal Wilson Jr., Willie Brown, Richard McNeely, David Wiles, Albert Hall, and Tony Howard.

Billy was born in Soperton, GA to the late William Frank Sr. and Retha Ann Pickens Rich. He was a member of Mt, Shady Baptist Church and a 1979 graduate of Swainsboro High School. Billy attended Southeastern Technical College in Americus, GA. Billy was the owner of Rich Insurance and Mortgage and co-owner of R & R Properties. He was a member of the country club, enjoyed playing golf, and loved riding his golf cart. Billy loved to cook especially on the grill. He was a grill master and was famous for his great steaks. He loved to entertain family and friends; was fun and outgoing and always lived life to the fullest. Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Retha Ann Pickens Rich; his parents, William Frank Rich Sr. and Alice Lanier Rich; sisters, Debra Jane Rich, Zan Griswold Smith and Teresa Rich Percival.

Daughter: Hana Rich Alfonso (Vince) of Adrian, GA

Sons: Chris Cumbee and Adam Cumbee of Twin City, GA

Sister: Zebe Durden Henry (Cooper) of Twin City, GA

Brother: Lanier Griswold (Joy) of Swainsboro, GA

Grandchildren: Aaden and Raylon Cumbee, Hanley Moorman and Finley Kayte Alfonso

Mother-In-Law: Jennett Coleman Russell of Twin City, GA

The Colemans: Vince and Kristi, Caitlan Nail (Gordon) and Hollan

The Mother of our Hana: Jan Hall Dawkins of Swainsboro, GA
