William Trinton Hooks, Jr.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. William Trinton Hooks, Jr., age, 81, of Swainsboro, GA, on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Emanuel Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10:00 am at Hawhammock Baptist Church with Rev. Cail Pressey officiating and Rev. Scott Huffman assisting.

Interment will be at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland Georgia at 4:00 pm with Military Honors.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on December 16, 2019.

Pallbearers are Mitchell Hudson, Daniel Calhoun, David McGinnis, Boulder Brown, Caleb Pressey, and Patrick Cooke.

Mr. Hooks was born November 4, 1938 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, Georgia to the late William Trenton, Sr. and Emily Loree Davis Hooks. Trinton was a store manager for Sears for 30 years. He held a BS Degree in Physical Education and served as a pilot in the US Army and his nickname was “Sky Hooks”. Trinton flew the border between East and West Germany. He was a member of Hawhammock Baptist Church for 25 years, where he was a deacon and choir director for 15 years and was devoted in his Christian faith. He was also a choir director for Hillcrest, a member of Emmaus Community and for 20 years was a member of the Hawhammock Bible Study Group. He was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. He was affectionately called “Papa T”.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elsie Lewis Hooks, his son, Scott C. Hudson, and his granddaughter, Haleigh Hudson.

His Wife of 26 years: Inez Jones Hooks of Swainsboro, GA

Two Daughters: Terri Huffman (Scott) of Ellenboro, NC and Tammy McGinnis (David) of Conover, NC          

His Sons: Drone Hudson, Jr. (Beth) of Swainsboro, GA and Mark Hudson (Leslie) of Sandersville, GA

His Daughter-In-Law: Debbie C. Hudson of Kite, GA

Eleven Grandchildren: Lauren Huffman, Robbie Huffman (Janna), Daniel Calhoun, Daniel McGinnis, Kayla Askins (Chad), Ashley Galo (Marc), Vincent Spencer (Laura), Sharon Hudson, Mitchell Hudson (Karen), Chaz Hudson, and Kate Hudson.

Ten Great-Grandchildren: Paxton McGinnis, Gabriel Askins, Caroline Askins, Lillian Hudson, Eden Hudson, Rosalie Hudson, Adeline Galo, Spencer Galo, Amelia Spencer, and Davis Spencer.
