Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Waymond Douglas, age 81, of Byron, GA, formerly of Swainsboro, GA, on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA
Funeral services will be Monday, September 24, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darron Moncus officiating.
Interment will follow in the Sardis Primitive Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 5-7 PM.
Pallbearers are Wesley Way, Jeremy Way, Dustin Way, Steve Claxton Jr., Kyle Vander Poorten, and Zach Folds.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Joey Webb, Johnny Moore, Doug Kersey, Barney Douglas, Vaughn Beasley, and the Byron Waffle House Employees.
Mr. Douglas was born April 7, 1937 in Adrian, GA to the late Gordon Sr. and Minnie Lee Webb Douglas. He was employed by Norfolk Southern Railroad for 25 years, loved fishing, hunting and spending time with family. Mr. Douglas was an active member of the Grace Baptist Church in Fort Valley, GA and a former member of Southside Baptist Church in Swainsboro, GA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jean Willoughby Douglas; three sisters, Tincie Kersey, Marzelle Hill and Charlotte Beasley; two brothers, Gordon Douglas Jr. and Pharoah Douglas.

Three Sons: Terry Willoughby of Byron, GA, Joe Frank Willoughby of Ariton, AL, and Robert Churchill (Lisa) of San José, CA
Nine Grandchildren: Wesley Way (Amy), Jeremy Way (Erin), Dustin Way (Delane), Steve Claxton Jr. (Hannah), Casey Claxton, Natalie Vander Poorten (Kyle), Emily Gurr, Ashley Willoughby and Clayton Palomino (Tawny).
Twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, nieces, nephews and extended family.
