Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Viola J. Screws, age 84, of Swainsboro, on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Emanuel Medical Center.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 10:00 AM, in Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Ervin Stapleton officiating.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening, February 11, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, at the Funeral Home.
Interment will follow on Tuesday, February 12, 2019, at 12:00 Noon, at Iron Hill Church Cemetery in Dearing, GA with Pastor Doug Thompson officiating.
Pallbearers are: Shane Akridge, Freddie Smith, Jefferson Rabun and Jackson Rabun.
Mrs. Screws was born on September 18, 1934, in Twin City, Emanuel County, GA to the late Respers and Lucy Chalker Jones. She was a Homemaker, devoted to her family, loved to fish and was a member of Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to her Parents, Mrs. Screws was predeceased by Her Husbands, Otis D. Rabun, Sr. and Tom A. Screws, Sr.
Survivors include:
Two Daughters: Brenda A. Akridge of Stillmore, GA and Cheryn Reynolds of Millen, GA.
One Son: Otis D. Rabun, Jr., his wife Mary Agnes of Thomson, GA
Six Grandchildren
Nine Great-Grandchildren
One Great Great Grandchild
