Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Truman D. McKenzie, age 75, of Swainsboro, GA on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, at Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, GA.
Funeral Services will be Friday, March 26, 2021, at 2:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Louis Pearce officiating.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the funeral home from 6-8PM.
Pallbearers are Craig Purvis, Tim Harrell, David Harrell, Gray Thurman, Wesley Holloway, and Kyle Ricks.
CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and health and well being of others.
Mr. McKenzie was born November 20, 1945 in Guyton, Effingham County, GA to the late Andrew David and Hattie Lee Griffin McKenzie and was a graduate of Swainsboro High School. He served his country in the Army and National Guard from 1964-1970. He is retired from Rayonier with 30 plus years of service; loved the outdoors, fishing, and attending the races. His greatest joy was his family and spending time with them. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 42 years, Wanda Robinson McKenzie; and sisters, Melvadean Williamson and Mary Frances Rowland.
Survivors Include:
Daughter: Stacie McKenzie Sauce (Tommy III) of Swainsboro, GA
Son: Kevin McKenzie (Skye) of Swainsboro, GA
Brother: Ray McKenzie of Swainsboro, GA
Grandchildren: Amy Sauce, Monica Sauce and Kennedy Clark.
Great-Grandchild: Jordan Jones, nieces, nephews and extended family.
