Sarah Thompson Obituary

Sarah Rickett McCullough Thompson of Swainsboro passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20th in Dallas, Georgia, surrounded by her family.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 1st at 11:30 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lylerly, Georgia.

Ms. Thompson was born in January 6, 1937 in Menlo, Georgia, to Gordon and Ruth Quail Rickett. She attended school and graduated from Armuchee High School. After graduation, she worked as a waitress at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport for many years before retiring. She enjoyed spending time with her family, exercising, reading and shopping with friends. She was a volunteer at the Franklin Memorial Library. In addition to her parents Ms. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roy Edwin Thompson; and by her son, Perry Joe McCullough.

Survivors include her son: Thomas (Annette) McCullough of Dallas, GA.

Stepdaughter: Phyllis (Richard) Reddish and stepson: Phil (Cel) Thompson all of Swainsboro. GA.

Grandchildren:  Christi (Ryan) Ayers, Christopher ( Bryanne) McCullough and Chadwick (Emily) McCullough.

Step grandchildren: Jenny (Jeremy) Coulter,  Michael ((Rebekah) Reddish and Seth Schrader.

Great grandchildren: Justin McCullough, Landon Ayers and Wyatt McCullough.

Step great grandchildren: Bryson Mire, Hadlee Mire, Peyton Coulter, Claire Coulter, Gavin Reddish and Connor Reddish.

Special nephew: Jimmy Rickett.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Swainsboro Senior Citizens Center.
