Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Ms. Sarah Lois Riner Scott, age 92, of Snellville, GA, formerly of Swainsboro, GA, on Thursday, June 13, 2019, following a brief illness.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Swainsboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Robert Blankenship officiating assisted by Rev. Larry Price and Rev. Casey Shaw.
Visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, June 16, 2019, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Ms. Scott will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery
Pallbearers are Bob Mimbs, Reginald Blakewood, Jerry Cadle, Billy Cavanah, Nicky Drake, Johnny Moore, and Bill Carmichael.
Honorary Pallbearers are Tyson Stephens, Al Thomas, and Richard McNeely.
Ms. Scott was born November 11, 1926 in Johnson County, to the late James Daniel Riner and Mary Canady Riner. She retired from the Law Firms of Ivey Rountree, Rountree and Rountree, and Cadle Attorneys after 62 years of devoted service. She was a member of the Swainsboro First Baptist Church, where she taught a Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Agape Sunday School Class and the leader of the Morning Mission Circle. She also enjoyed needle point and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, Ms. Scott was predeceased by her beloved husband of 54 years, Mr. Thomas David Scott, Sr.; three sisters, and three brothers.
Survivors Include:
Three Sons: Thomas David Scott, Jr. (Nancy) of Lilburn, GA, Jonathan Scott (Lisa) of Swainsboro, GA, and James Scott (Robin) of Adairsville, GA.
Four Grandchildren: Thomas David Scott III (Tess), Clinton Daniel Scott (Catie), Brandy Synder (Greg), and Randi Mills (Ron).
Ten Great – Grandchildren: Sarah Scott, Kiari Scott, Thomas David Scott IV, Saydee Scott, Clinton Daniel Scott, Jr., Cheyenne Palmer, Trinity Richter, Christian Berendel, Jake Mills, and Hunter Mills
