Sara Fagler Obituary

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Sara Brinson Fagler, age 93, of Swainsboro, GA on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at her daughter’s residence in Swainsboro.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Twin City First Baptist Church with Rev. Franklin Sasser and Rev. Max Rogers, Jr. officiating.

Entombment will be in Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are: Phillip Rehberg, Jim Mercer, George Rountree, Tim Campbell, Glenn Way and W. C. Grimes.

Honorary Escorts are:  Deacons of the Twin City First Baptist Church, Roger Douglas, Rusty Kea, Mitch Riner, Chris Jukes and Mitch Stafford.

Mrs. Fagler was born October 15, 1924 in Twin City, GA to the late Hubert and Mattie Lou Bishop Brinson.  Before retiring with Twin City Manufacturing as a Machine Operator for over 20 years, Mrs. Fagler was a switchboard operator in Twin City, worked at the Shipyard in Savannah and at Lifeline Industries until it closed.  She was a member of Twin City First Baptist Church and Sunday School Teacher for the Nursery  Department for over 50 years.  She was an avid Braves Fan, Tiger Baseball Fan and ECI and Georgia Bulldog Fan.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Elmo Fagler; two sisters, Mary Sturgis and Mildred Kemp; one Brother, Irvin Hubert Brinson and a Step-Daughter, Carol Ann Birchman.          .

Survivors include:

One Daughter:  Elaine Womack  of Swainsboro, GA

One Step-Daughter:  Gail Byron of Myrtle Beach, SC

One Step-Son:  Johnny Alan Fagler of Denmark

One Sister:  Betty Sue Davis of Savannah, GA

One Brother:  Lewis Brinson (Barbara) of Fitzgerald, GA

One Grandson;  Jody Womack of Swainsboro, GA

One Step-Grandson:  Steven Dicorte

Five Step-Grand Daughters:  Joni Roth, Sara Owens, Jacquelyn Mitchum, Brenda Desung and Laura Gumm.

Seven Great Grandchildren, Numerous Nieces, Nephews and Extended Family
