Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Sara Riner Hudson Claxton, age 94, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at her residence.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 11:00 AM in the Peebles, Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Rusty Moore and Rev. Jim Harrell officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening, at the funeral home from 6-8 PM.

Interment will follow in the Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Bryan Flanders, Brent Hudson, Russ Harrell, Hunter Moore, Justin Strickland, Mason Manning and Levi Manning.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the health and well being of others.

Mrs. Claxton was born in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA, on September 25, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Dennis and Charlotte Faircloth Riner.  Mrs. Sara retired as a seamstress with Creston Knitting Mills and is of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, and cooking; however her greatest joy was her family, spending time with them and caring for them. In addition to her family she was preceded in death by her husbands, Oliver “Jr.” Hudson Jr. and Elder William Claxton; son, Jerry Oliver Hudson; sisters, Anne Roberson, Dora Mae Wiggins and Maggie Youngblood; brothers, Earnest “Slim” Riner, Oscar Riner and I.T. Riner; and step-son, Harold Claxton.

Survivors Include:

Daughters: Judy Moore (Russell), Linda Flanders, Barbara Strickland (Allan) and Jessie Garrett (Donnie) all of Swainsboro, GA

Step Son: Lewis Claxton of Swainsboro, GA

14 Grandchildren, 18 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
