Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Samuel “Sambo” Hooks, 86, of Twin City, who passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025, at his residence.

Memorial service will be conducted Monday, March 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.

Sambo was preceded in death by his parents, Wesley Albert Hooks and Mamie Parham Hooks; Wife, Willa Dene Oglesby Hooks; Brothers, W.A. Hooks, Jerry Hooks, Ronald Hooks, Tommy Hooks; Sisters, Edith Willis, Yvonne Chester.

Survivors Include:

Son: Greg Hooks of Statesboro

Daughters: Donna Hooks of Twin City, Tracy Trull (Billy) of Twin City

Grandchildren; Taylor Trull, Austin Trull

Several nieces, nephews and many friends.
