Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Robert Wilkerson, age 80, of Twin City, GA, on Sunday, February 07, 2021, at Pruitt Health in Swainsboro, Georgia.

Funeral services will be conducted at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, February 09, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Dale Wilkerson officiating.

Visitation will be Monday evening, February 08, 2021, 5-7:00 PM at the funeral home.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the health and well being of others.

Interment will be in the El Bethel  Baptist Church Cemetery in Twin City, GA.

Pallbearers will be Craig Hendley, Roy Wilkerson, Bobby Wilkerson, LaRan Wilkerson, LaDon Wilkerson and Bobby Wilkerson, Jr.

Born in Ocala, Florida, Robert was the son of the late Roy and Willie Maude Arnold Wilkerson. Robert was an extremely hard worker, having “grown up” in the cotton fields. Later in life he worked with Hodges-Moore Funeral Home, doing whatever needed to be done. He would work in the facility, at the cemetery and with the service vehicles. He enjoyed gardening and he loved flowers. Robert had a green thumb and could grow anything. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Catherine Garvin and four brothers, Roy Wilkerson, Jr., Jimmy Lee Wilkerson, Tommy Wilkerson and Bobby Ray Wilkerson.

Survivors Include:

Daughter: Virginia Steels of Ellabelle, GA.

Sons: Earl Wilkerson of Claxton, GA, Joe Wilkerson of Metter, GA and Dean Wilkerson of Twin City, GA.

Sisters: Minnie Lanier of Millen, GA., Vera Henderson of Swainsboro, GA., Jean Sheppard of Swainsboro, GA., Brenda Coleman of Canoochee, GA., and Diane Strickland of Canoochee, GA.
