Robert Lee "Butch" Lane, Jr.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Robert L. “Butch” Lane, Jr., age 70, of Garfield, GA on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Candler County Hospital in Metter, GA.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 12 Noon, in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church near Garfield, GA.

Interment will follow in the Mt, Olivet Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church, from 11-12.

Pallbearers are Gralin Yarbrough, Tim Shaw, Frank Davis, Troy Lindsey, Kevin Lindsey and Russell Swinney.

Mr. Lane, “Butch”, an Emanuel County native, was born August 12, 1952, to the late Robert L. Lane Sr. and Janet Kent Lane Bradham and was a 1971 graduate of ECI (Emanuel County Institute). He lived 35 years, in Baldwin County, was a car salesman for 30 plus years with Childre, recently relocating back home to Emanuel County.  “Butch” enjoyed a full house of friends and family, the more the merrier, was a sweet talker to the ladies and never met a stranger. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a hard worker in spite of his disability, loved being outdoors on his tractor, and was a member of Mt. Olivet Church.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Chapman Lane; and sister, Martha Sue Westberry.

Survivors include:

Sons: Robert L. “Robbie” Lane III (Krista) of Davisboro, GA, and Howard “Jairus" Lane (Jessica) of Garfield, GA.

Grandchildren: Brittny Pulliam, Lee Lane, and Riley Lane.

Great-Grandchildren: Brayden Pulliam and Davis Pulliam.

Step-Children: Justin Chapman, Lance  Chapman, and Ashley Chapman.

Nieces, nephews and extended family.
