Robert Benjamin "Ben" Holmes

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Robert Benjamin (Ben) Holmes, age 38, on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

On Thursday, April 2, 2020, Robert Benjamin (Ben) Holmes, loving husband and father of two sons, passed away at age 38.

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.  

Ben was born on March 17, 1982 in Statesboro, GA to Stanley and Tammy Holmes. After graduating Lexington High School in the year 2000, he went on to receive his associates degree in science, with a speciality in chemical analysis, from Midlands Technical College. Ben was also a graduate of the welding program at Lincoln Technical Institute.  He was a welder by trade.  On January 1, 2005 he married Lindsay Holmes.  Ben and Lindsay have two precious children, Logan and Jonathan.  Ben inherited his passion for the Alabama Crimson Tide football team from his grandfather, Bennie Sinquefield. He was also passionate about his love for Christ and used this love to help the homeless and those in need. He was an avid Marvel comic book collector and Wolverine was his favorite character.  His family and friends admired his intelligent mind, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.

Ben was preceded in death by his cousin, Jonathan Fields; his maternal grandparents, Bennie and Barbara Sinquefield; and paternal grandparents, Robert Lewis Holmes and Gladys Fagler.

His Brother and Sister-In-Law: Adam and Amanda Holmes of Hephzibah, GA

His parents: Stanley and Tammy Holmes of Swainsboro, GA
