Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Robert Atwell, 68, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024 at Harborview Nursing Home in Decatur.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, January 07, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Sandhill Cemetery in Swainsboro with Reverend Mark Hardin officiating.

Robert was born in Victoria, Texas to Odie and Ruth Atwell. Bob became a Christian during his teen years and as an adult was a member of The Temple Baptist Church in Powder Springs, Georgia. After high school Bob worked at Texas Instruments. He then joined the military and served in the United States Air Force for four years. During this time, he and his wife Betty lived in Guam for three years. Bob worked well with his hands and was a hard worker. Before becoming disabled due to his health, Bob worked with Manhattan Supply Company and with Lockheed.         

Survivors Include:

His Loving Wife of 42 years: Elizabeth “Betty” Corbin Atwell.

Two Brothers: John and Charlie Atwell both of Victoria, Texas.
