Robbie Nell (Clark) Hendley

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Robbie Nell Hendley, age 90, of Millen, GA, on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at The Landing of Bogart, GA.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, Garfield, GA.

Interment will follow in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Garfield, GA

The family will receive friends at the Church one hour prior to the service, from 10-11 AM.

Pallbearers will be James Hendley, Scott Hendley, Jake Hendley, Tyler Hendley, Duncan, Taylor and Wes Wammock.

Mrs. Robbie Nell was born July 18, 1931, to the late Robbie W. and Lula Cross Clark in Garfield, Emanuel County, GA. She was a graduate of Garfield High School, and enjoyed playing basketball during her high school years.  Mrs. Robbie Nell received her degree in Education from Georgia Teacher’s College, and taught for eight years at Bay Branch School.  She was a member of the Camellia Garden Club in Millen and was a Master Flower Show Judge.  In her spare time she enjoyed growing and arranging flowers and hosting bridge groups with friends. Mrs. Robbie  Nell was a devoted and faithful wife, to her late husband Dr. John Ell Hendley, with whom she followed during his career to Millen, GA; Zweibruecken, Germany; Myrtle Beach, SC; and finally Eatonton, GA, where they eventually retired.  In addition to her parents, and husband of 64 years, she was also preceded in death by her oldest son John Ell Hendley Jr.; and five siblings, Pauline Canady, Thelma Spence, Frances Johnson, W. H. Clark and Hyland Clark.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Hayley Taylor (Joe) of Statham, GA.

Sons: Clark Hendley (Cindy) of St. Simons Island, GA and Jay Hendley (Patti) of Garfield, GA.

Daughter-In-Law: Cindy Hendley of Newnan, GA.

Sister-In-Law: June Ellen Clark of Garfield, GA

Grandchildren: Trey Hendley, MaryAnna Coles, Katie Hendley, James Hendley, Scott Hendley, Robin Hendley, Jake Hendley (Mindy), Tyler Hendley (Alie), Lauren Hendley, Duncan Taylor and Emma Taylor.

Great-Grand Children: Hunt Mercer Hendley, Georgia Rose Hendley, Jackson Bishop Hendley, Aubrey Wright, , Corbin Michael Coles, Jackson Taylor Coles, Isla Wrynn Coles Audrey Rae Coles
