Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Ritchie P. Williamson, age 70, of Oak Park, GA on Saturday, June 23, 2023, following an extended illness, at Oxley Park Health and Rehabilitation in Lyons, GA.

Private graveside services will be held at Pendleton Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cason officiating.

Ritchie was born on February 15, 1953 in Toombs County, to “R.L.” and Rose Ella Williamson. He attended school in Oak Park and Swainsboro and graduated Swainsboro High School, Class of 1971. He then went on to graduate with an A.A degree from East Georgia Junior College and later completed his B.A degree from Georgia Southern. Ritchie was a P.E. teacher at Collins Elementary School and also served a term as a councilman for the City of Oak Park. He enjoyed sports and played softball on several men’s teams. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan,  following them as much as possible. In addition to his parents, R.L. and Rose Ella; he was preceded in death by his grandparents,  Arthur and Dessie Williamson and Lillie and Rufus Williamson all of Oak Park, GA. and several Aunts and Uncles.   

Survivors include:

Brother: Eddie Williamson and of Oak Park, GA

Several Cousins and extended family.
