Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Reva M. Brinson, 91, of Twin City, who passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Emanuel County Nursing Home, following an extended illness.
Per her wishes, A Graveside Memorial Service will be conducted Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Randall Smith officiating at The Coleman Cemetery in Twin City.
The family will receive friends after the service.
Mrs. Reva was born May 31st, 1933, in Twin City to Mr. Willie Oglesby, Sr. and Mary Davis Oglesby. She worked with the Emanuel County School System. She was a member of Twin City Methodist Church. She had a love for gardening, sewing, and cooking (she was determined to keep everyone’s belly full). She also enjoyed going fishing and being outdoors. She was an avid yard sale fan. Mrs. Reva’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her greatest loves. She was always ready to load up and go on a lunch date with her grands. She will be missed dearly.
The family will be gathered at 1015 Scarboro Church Road.
Mrs. Reva was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bannie “Dutch” Brinson, Sr.; brothers, Willie Oglesby, Jr., Jim Oglesby, and Jerry Oglesby; granddaughter, Jenni Burke Fennell.
Survivors Include:
Daughter: Debra Brinson Best (Alan) of Twin City.
Sons: Butch Brinson (Nancy) of Twin City, Ronald Burke (Debra) of Vidalia, Ricky Burke (Susan) of Blundale.
9 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, special cousins, and many friends.
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Emanuel County Nursing Home for the loving care shown to their mother.
