Ray Lofton "Buddy" Smith

Durden Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Ray Lofton “Buddy” Smith, 66, of Twin City, who passed away Friday, May 2, 2025, at Twin View Health and Rehab.

Buddy was born August 23, 1958, in Savannah to the late Johnny Ray Smith and Mary Nell Trull Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; niece, Teri Smith; nephew, Michael Smith.  Buddy loved airplanes and being outdoors.  He especially loved his family and enjoyed eating. 

He is survived by his brothers, Ricky Smith (Lucille) of McRae, Kenneth Smith (Ann) of Canoochee, James Smith of Savannah, John Smith (Samantha) of Swainsboro; sister, Arlene Phillips (Wayne) of Soperton; nephews, Ron Wommack, John Wommack; niece, Stephanie Lemaster; special aunts, Mary Johnson, Sarah Overstreet; many friends.

Graveside Service will be held at Sardis Cemetery on Monday, May 5, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Gilbert Posey officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May, 5, 2025 at Durden Hudson Funeral Directors.
