Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Randall, “Randy” Smith, age 73, of Swainsboro, on Friday, March 04, 2022 at Emanuel County Nursing Home.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday, March 07, 2022 at 2:00 pm in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with John Farren Ruffner officiating.
The family will gather and greet friends and family one hour prior to the service at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.
Born in Augusta, GA, Randy was the son of the late Roy Lee Smith and Janene Durden Smith.
After graduating from Swainsboro High School, Randy attended Brewton Parker College and Georgia Southern University. Randy was a self made entrepreneur. His most recent business adventure was operating Better Built Buildings in Brunswick, GA. Prior to his health decline, he resided in Shellmans Bluff, GA.
In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf. He was also an avid reader and sportsfan. He enjoyed a fine dining meal, a strong drink and a good game of cards. He also loved music and movies especially Westerns and anything that included Elvis Presley. Randy appreciated all life had to offer. He had a one of a kind personality and was known as being the life of the party. He was an animated storyteller and had nicknames for everyone he loved. He himself was known as the Silverfox.
His survivors include two daughters; Rann Smith and Suzanne Smith Hampton (Drew) and their mother, Jill Fries Arrendale; all of Columbia, SC.
A son, Rhett Smith, and his mother Sharon Donaldson Smith, both of Rock Hill, SC. Grandaughters: Jillian and Olivia Hampton.
Two sisters; Trudy Smith Bowen of Lyons, GA and Jan Smith Moore (Lige) of Swainsboro GA.
Several Nieces and Nephews that he adored.
