Mr. Phillip Edwin Thompson, 71, of Swainsboro, GA, passed away at Memorial Health Medical Center in Savannah, GA on September 2, 2025.
He started every day with the reading of his Bible. Phillip was a part owner of Phil-Rich Foods and the owner-operator of Prime Time Video. He was a member of the Swainsboro Country Club where he played many rounds with his friends. He was a member of the Praise Band at the Swainsboro First Methodist Church and was well known for the talent he had with his guitar. He loved cooking for and spending time with his family, farming, and his beach trips. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Thompson, a step son, Joseph Seth Schrader, both of Swainsboro, a sister, Phyllis (Richard) Reddish, sister-in-law, Deborah Burrows, brother-in-law, Robert Reddish, special niece, Jenny (Jeremy) Coulter of Statesboro, special nephew, Michael (Rebekah) Reddish of Swainsboro, great nieces and nephews, Peyton Coulter, Claire Coulter, Gavin Reddish, and Connor Reddish, his girl girls (dogs) Pinky and Belle.
Funeral services will be held at Durden Hudson Funeral Directors at 11am on Friday, September 5, 2025 with Rev. Mark Hardin officiating. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be John Durden, Ashley Riner, Bobby Mason, Billy Cooler, Steve Applegate, Charles Elkins, and Mark Smith.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Kettles and Joe Nasworthy.
Interment will follow at Swainsboro City Cemetery.
