Mrs. Pennie Bennett Riner, 64, of Nunez passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at Augusta University. Mrs. Riner was born on December 30, 1959, to the late Mr. Dan Bennett and Martha Douglas Bennett. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Riner was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. She was a part-time instructor at Southeastern Technical College when it was Swainsboro Technical College. She was self-employed, owning her own hair salon before retiring in 2022. Mrs. Riner married the love of her life, Charles Riner and they had been together for 48 years. She enjoyed doing hair, spending time in her yard, and planting flowers. Mrs. Riner enjoyed sewing and crafts. She loved cooking Thanksgiving dinners.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles Riner of Nunez; son, Corey Bennett Riner of Nunez; daughter, Lisa Michele Riner of Nunez; brother, Doug Bennett (Teah) of Nunez; sisters, Dana Kirby (Bruce) of Swainsboro, Pam Jones (Johnny) of Louisville; grandson, Caleb Rhett Brown (Miranda) of Valdosta; great grandson, David Rhett Brown; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, December 7, 2024, at Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Elder Sam Bowen officiating, assisted by Elder Will Martin and Elder Craig Lanier.
Interment will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, December 6, 2024, at Durden Hudson Funeral Directors.
The Pallbearers will be Mrs. Riner’s nephews, Robert Riner, Beau Pritchard, Brock Pritchard; cousins, William Roberson, Cecil Roberson; family friend, Wayne St. Cyr (“Tic”)
