P. Blaine Welborn

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. P. Blaine Welborn, age 87, of Swainsboro, GA on Thursday, November 30, 2017.

Funeral services will be Sunday, December 3, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Swainsboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Leigh officiating.

Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Swainsboro First Baptist Church on hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are  Michael Edenfield, Henry Terwilliger, J. Tyson Stephens, Chris Hall, Ed Daniels and Richard Daniels.

In grateful appreciation Honorary Pallbearers will be his caregivers: Loucendia Williams, Audrey Riggins, Tommy Giles, Priscilla Williams and Corinthia Jackson. Also serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be the Jimmy Morgan Sunday School Class.

Mr. Welborn was born June 25, 1930 in Ronda, NC to the late Charles Lee and Mattie Maci Welborn and served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict.  After retiring from Swainsboro Printworks as a textile printer, he was employed by Farmers Furniture, was an avid reader and loved traveling.  He was a member of Swainsboro First Baptist Church, and in addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Helen Vaughan Welborn; sisters, Kathleen Wells, Mary Tucker, Haleigh Welborn; and brothers, Harold Welborn and Ralph Welborn.

Survivors include:

One Daughter: Maria Daniels (Sam) of Swainsboro, GA

Two Sisters: Ann Gray (Howard), Betty Jo Bame (Curt) all of Colfax, NC

Three brothers: Dwight Welborn of Winston Salem, NC, R. J Welborn of Colfax, NC, and George Welborn of Hamptonville, NC.

Two Grandsons: Richard Blaine Daniels (Emily) and Jacob Vaughan Daniels.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation, for the excellent care received by Mr. Welborn, to the Community Hospice Staff.
