Ora Lee (Bennett) Odom

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Ms. Ora Lee Bennett Odom, age 86, of Twin City, GA, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at the Treutlen County Nursing Home.

Graveside services will be Friday, November 26, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Glen Hancock officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday, November 26, 2021, at the funeral home from 1:00 – 2:30 PM and at the home of Cindy Allen Meeks following the services.

Pallbearers are John Allen, Kim Borders, Jeremy Wilcher, Scotty Hendley, Coty Marsh, Tim Johnson and Shane Hopkins.

Ms. Odom was born December, 30, 1934, to the late Andrew Sr.  and Rosa Lee Allcott Bennett in Herndon, GA.  She was a retired seamstress, previously employed with Swainsboro Sportswear, Creston Knitting Mill and Jockey International. Ms. Odom was a past member of Deep Creek Freewill Baptist Church and a long time member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.  She enjoyed music; was a wonderful cook, according to her family was the “Best Biscuit Maker In Emanuel County”; her love for them was endless and spending time with them her greatest joy. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sons, Andrew Keith Wilson and Mitchell Lee Wilson; step-father, Edd Hadden; sisters, Julia Goatly, and Martha “Polly” Wilcher; and brother, Andrew Bennett.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Cindy Allen Meeks (Michael) of Twin City, GA

Son: Irvin Joseph Wilson II of Twin City, GA

Brother: Roy Hadden of Twin City, GA

Grandchildren: Christopher Rickerson (Lauren), Justin C. Allen, Rosa Lee Wilson, and Matthew Wilson.

Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
