Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Nelle Montford Hall, age 86, of Swainsboro, GA on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at her residence.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Swainsboro First Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Leigh officiating.
Interment will be in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery near Lexsy, GA.
Mrs. Hall will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday Evening, July 30, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Pallbearers are Matthew Williams, Marc Curry, Jerry Lawson, Jr., Albert Hall, Justin Hall and Stephen Hall.
Honorary Escorts will be Fidelis Sunday School Class, Agape Sunday School Class and Emanuel County Retired Educators.
Mrs. Hall was born September 3, 1931 in Dublin, Laurens County, GA, to the late James Henry and Ruth Colley Montford, prominent Laurens County Farmers. Mrs. Hall was a graduate of Dublin High School and graduated from Georgia State College for Women in 1951, with a BS Degree. She began teaching in 1952 and taught for 41 years, beginning her career in Treutlen County where she taught for five years; from there she taught Government and History at Swainsboro High School for fifteen years, and was Cheerleader Sponsor for many years; she then taught at David Emanuel Academy from 1972-1980; returning to Swainsboro High School until her retirement in 1993. After retirement, she served as a substitute teacher at Swainsboro High School until 1997, and she received The Star Teacher Award for Emanuel County in 1980. Mrs. Hall was a member of Emanuel County Retired Educators, and enjoyed hearing from all of her former students, who sent cards and pictures to her through the years and loved sharing all the memories with her family. She loved working in her daylilly garden; was a member of The First Baptist Church in Swainsboro; was loved and respected by the Fidelis Sunday School Class, where she taught for over 30 years and more recently was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Jack Hall, and a sister, Miriam Dominy.

Five Grandchildren: Bart Hall (Julie) of Boulder, Colorado, Barron Hall (Katie) of Gray, GA, Shelby Hall of Athens, GA, Micah Strickland and Jared Strickland(Jolie Crapps) both of Swainsboro, GA
Two Great Grandchildren: Emmerlyn Grace Hall and Madilyn Rose Hall both of Gray, GA
Nieces, Nephews, extended family and numerous friends.
Special Caregivers: Misty McKenzie and Debbie Williams.
