Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Michael “Mike” N. Lusk, of Salt Lick, KY, (formerly of Swainsboro, GA) on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

Mr. Lusk was born September 23, 1948, in Williamson, West Virginia, to the late William Kenneth Lusk and Jean Shields Strange. Mike was a 1966 graduate of Swainsboro High School; where he was State Tennis Singles Champion his senior year. He enlisted in the US Army in 1967, and his goal was to be a Special Forces Officer; he excelled in the physical fitness requirements, scoring 500 of 500 on the Obstacle Course at Ft. Benning. Unfortunately his goals were changed when he suffered a career-ending knee injury while home in Swainsboro on leave. Mike attended Georgia Southern University, Middle Georgia and Graduated from University of Georgia in 1976 with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics. After farming for several years, he became a Credit Manager for Goldkist and Farm Credit and later retired in Southwest Georgia. During the last few years he has enjoyed his retirement living in his beloved mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kenneth Blake Lusk.

Nephew: William Clayton “Clay” Price (Amanda) of Savannah, GA
Great Niece: Hinesley Jean Price also of Savannah, GA
