Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Mary Ellen Johnson, age 76, on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at her residence after a brief illness.

Graveside services will be Friday, January 8, 2021 at 11 AM in the Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bryan Price officiating.

CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the health and well being of others.

Mrs. Johnson was born July 11, 1944 in Garfield, Emanuel County, GA to the late Rufus Sr. and Bertie Mae Collins Thompson.  She adored her sons, enjoyed spending time with family, coloring, puzzles, and cooking.  Mrs. Johnson was a member of the Garfield Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, B. L. Johnson; sister, Dorothy Thompson; brothers, Rufus Thompson Jr., Cecil Thompson, Carl Edward Thompson.

Survivors include:

Sons: Rex Johnson (Renee) of Swainsboro, GA, Sheldon Johnson of Garfield, GA and Jody Johnson.

Sister:  Annie Lou McCormick of Summerville, GA.

Brothers: James Earl Thompson
