Mary held dear her many wonderful memories of friends and her years spent in Twin City School. She always talked about all the friends going dancing in groups and attending ballgames. Mary often tried to keep up with current news of her classmates. Until the last few years, Mary continued to listen to E.C.I. football with much excitement and pride. During her stay at the nursing home Mary became and enjoyed being a birdwatcher and a Georgia Bulldog fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, James E. Canady; a sister, Sarah Ellen Newton Gillis, and a brother, Charlie James Newton.
