Martha Ann (Brinson) Scott

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Martha Ann Brinson Scott, age 83, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at Pruitt Health Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Louis Pierce officiating and Rev. Greg Johnson assisting.

Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.

Pallbearers are Alvie Scott, Jr., Blake Jones, Will Scott, Randy Rowland, Gary Scott, and Chris Rowland.

Mrs. Scott was born July 24, 1936 in Summertown, Emanuel County, GA to the late Thomas and Julie Fanning Brinson. She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and baking cakes. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William J. “Billy” Scott, Sr.

Her Daughter: Martha Joyce Scott Hooks of Swainsboro, GA

Her Sons: Al Scott (Diane) of Kite, GA and William J. “Bill” Scott, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Metter, GA

Her Sisters: Mae Boynton of Vero Beach, FL and Sybil Garnto of Rincon, GA

13 Grandchildren, a Number of Great-Great Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and Extended Family
