Mrs. Leslie “Cissy” Jackson Wiggins, 64, of Swainsboro passed away, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Emanuel Medical Center. She was born on April 9, 1962, in Swainsboro to the late Alvin James Jackson and Carol Scarboro Jackson.
Cissy was a strong-willed woman with a big personality and a heart for adventure. She loved to travel and take vacations, and if nobody else wanted to go, she was perfectly happy to go on her own. Cissy enjoyed life and found happiness in the simple things, whether it was watching Scooby-Doo, listening to country music, or sitting outside admiring hummingbirds.
She was also talented with her hands and loved woodworking. Cissy was known for being smart, independent, and able to do anything she put her mind to. More than once, she surprised people with her many talents and determination. She worked for many years in the cutting room at Creston before serving an additional 15 years as a correctional officer. Cissy will be remembered for her independence, her strength, and the special way she lived life exactly as she wanted.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Joe Wiggins; son, Adam Wiggins; sister, Tammy Barton (Lyn); brother, Mitch Jackson; special nieces and nephew, Matthew Barton, Malanie Freeman, Maegan Shafer; special great-nieces and great-nephews, Thomas Freeman, Tatum Freeman, Wyatt Shafer, Whitley Shafer; along with several other extended family members and many dear friends.
