Lenez (Neal) McLendon

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Lenez Neal McLendon, age 88, of Twin City, GA on Friday, September 7, 2018, at East Georgia Regional Medical Center in Statesboro, GA.

Funeral services will be Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 3:00 PM, at Baptist Rest Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Randy Waters officiating and assisted by Elder Mike Gray.

Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. McLendon will lie in state at the church. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 3:00 P.M.

Pallbearers are: Melvin Mathis, Neal Mathis, Hank Mullis, Jimmy Neal, Trojan Harrison, and Tim Kea.

Mrs. McLendon was born September 24, 1929 in Emanuel County, GA, to the late Ben H. Neal Sr. and Lena Brantley Neal.  She was retired and a homemaker. She was a member of Statesboro Primitive Baptist Church of Statesboro, GA, and a member of the Garfield Ladies Auxiliary Club. Mrs. McLendon  loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She also loved flowers and going to Thursday Night Ladies Club. In addition to her  parents, Mrs. McLendon was preceded in death by her husbands, Murrell F. Johnson Sr. and Dr. Alvin McLendon, daughter Cathy Johnson(Paul), and eleven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: 

Three Daughters: Carol Lane of Adrian, GA, Jeanne Sanders (Buddy) of Tennille, GA, Lynne Hodges (Steve) of Millen, GA.

One Son: Murrell F. Johnson Jr. (Johnny) of Millen, GA

Two Step Daughters: Opal Horvat of New Jersey and Martha Ann White (Jim) of Florida.

Step Son: Dr. Phillip McLendon (Lisa) of Evans, GA
