Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Larry Wade Bedingfield, age 80, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at his residence.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM in the Calvary United Methodist Church sanctuary with Rev. Tom Tidwell, Rev. Nick Hazleton, and Rev. Mark Miller officiating.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, at the Church from 10:00 – 11:00 AM.
Interment will follow in the Swainsboro City Cemetery with Military Honors.
Pallbearers are Bill Carmichael, Charles Flanders, Johnny Hairr, Donny Wilson, Dess Smith, and Marty Payne.
Honorary Pallbearers are Otis Smith, Vaughn Riner, and Randall Kersey.
Mr. Bedingfield was born June 24, 1941, in Nunez, Emanuel County, GA to the late John Sampson “J. S.” and Gladys Cowart Bedingfield, and was a 1960 graduate of Swainsboro High School. He retired from Swainsboro Tech; where he taught mechanics for many years, before becoming Off Campus Coordinator, and later Night School Coordinator. Mr. Bedingfield spent 31 years serving, in the 265th Engineer Group, retiring as Lt. Colonel with the Army National Guard. He enjoyed hosting "pig pickins" for special events as well as sharing his "famous" BBQ sauce with family and friends and was a member of the Exchange Club. Mr. Bedingfield was a member of Calvary United Methodist and in addition to his parents was preceded in death by his brother, Don Bedingfield; sister and brother-in-law, Ohma Bedingfield Waters and Newt Waters; sister-in-law, Mary Bedingfield; mother and father-in-law, Andrew J. and Sara “MaMa Sallie” Johns.

Two Daughters: Kim Bedingfield Foskey (Jerry) of Greensboro, GA and Dr. Karen Bedingfield Ross (Dennis) of Swainsboro, GA
Brothers: Johnny Bedingfield of Guyton, GA and Jerry Bedingfield (Amy) of Louisville, GA
Sister-In-Law: Jenny Bedingfield in Texas City, TX
Grandchildren: Walt Foskey (Caitlin), Hope Foskey Davis (Taylor) and Wes Foskey (Cassidy)
Great-Grandchildren: Wells Wade Foskey and Graham Christopher Davis, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Faithful Caregivers: JoAnne Williams, Corene Johnson, Laney Claxton, Kathy Hopkins, Victoria Canady, and Cathaleen Ricks.
