Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Judy “Carol” Scarboro Jackson, age 79, of Swainsboro, GA, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 11, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Hebron Baptist Church with Rev. Don Carroll and Rev. Ervin Stapleton officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 6-8 PM.
Interment will follow in the Eastbrook Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson will lie in state, at the church, one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers are Odie Durden, Perry Ramsey, T. J. Freeman, Cody Shafer, Scotty Jones, and Jeff Dekle.
Mrs. Jackson was born January 24, 1943 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA, to the late Lonzie and Madie Henry Scarboro. She attended Swainsboro High School and was previously employed with Winn Dixie until its closing. Mrs. Jackson retired from Citizens Bank of Swainsboro after 20 plus years of service and was one of its stockholders. She was the glue of her family; once a member of her family, you were always her family and cared for dearly. Mrs. Jackson was an avid yard seller; collector of Cookie Jars, Depression and Carnival Glass, and Tea Cups. She made every occasion special, even afternoon sweets and coffee with the grandchildren, who had their own special tea cup for the event. Sunday dinner was a family event and Christmas was her favorite holiday, which she made extra special. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Hebron Baptist Church, and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Alvin J. Jackson; sisters, Adele Chalker and Martha Amerson; and daughter-in-law, Sabrina Jackson.

Daughters: Tammy Barton (Lyn) and Leslie Wiggins (Joe) all of Swainsboro, GA
Son: Mitch Jackson of Swainsboro, GA
Sisters: Margie Jones and Jean Jones both of Swainsboro, GA
Grandchildren: Matthew Barton, Adam Wiggins (Danyelle), Maegan J. Shafer (Cody), Malanie J. Freeman (T.J.), Savannah Jackson, Brendon Jackson, and Justice Hughes.
Great-Grandchild: Wyatt Shafer, nieces, nephews and extended family
