Judy A. (Wilkerson) Powell

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Ms. Judy A. Wilkerson Powell, age 60, of Meeks, GA on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at Augusta University Medical Center.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at 2:00 PM in the Corinth Methodist Church with Rev. Clarence Thompson officiating.

Interment will follow in the Corinth Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM.

Ms. Powell will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Jake Jackson, Roger Hooks, Derek Brown, Josh Fredrick, Vince Coleman and  Verlon Coleman.

Ms. Powell was born August 24, 1958 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA to the late James W. and Augustine Williams Wilkerson.  She was a 1977 graduate of Adrian High School and attended Swainsboro Technical College.  Ms. Powell was director of Emanuel County Senior Center, loved to be outside, flower gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. She attended Corinth Methodist Church and in addition to her parents was preceded in death by her sister, Fran Deal; and brothers, Donnie Wilkerson and Tolly Wilkerson.

Survivors include:

One Son: Trey Powell of Kite, GA

One Sister: Vicki Riner (Jonathan) of Meeks, GA

One Brother: Glenn Wilkerson (Terri) of Headland, AL

Two Grandchildren: Triston Powell and Auston Powell, nieces, nephews and extended family.
