Joyce (Snipes) Greenway

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Joyce Snipes Greenway, age 88, of Appling, GA, on Monday, January 24, 2022, at her home in Appling, GA.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM, in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Andrew Flowers officiating.

Interment will follow in the Hawhammock Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbeares will be David Williams, Chip Vickers, Nick Givins, Grant Flaig, Ray Holmes and Jonathan Holmes.

Mrs. Greenway was born November 20, 1933 in Twin City, Emanuel County, GA to the late Jesse James Snipes and Cora Lee Boatright Snipes.  She attended ECI (Emanuel County Institute) was a licensed Cosmetologist; owner of Joyce’s Beauty Salon, and taught Cosmetology at Augusta Tech.  Mrs. Greenway was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; and enjoyed sharing her love of her Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Eugene Greenway, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors Include:

 Daughters: Kathy G. Williams of Appling, GA, Glenda H. Aycock (Tommy) of Lincolnton, GA, and Becky Pooler of Midville, GA

Son: Thomas Eugene Greenway Jr. (Michelle) of Louisville, GA

10 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great Great-Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews and other extended family.
