Joyce (Hodges) Evans

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Joyce Evans, age 84, of Swainsboro, GA, formerly of Vidalia, GA, on Thursday, March 3, 2022, at Emanuel Medical Center.

A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

A private family visitation will be held at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Evans was born February 19, 1938 in Statesboro, GA to the late William and Fannie Williams Hodges. She enjoyed word searches, reading, crocheting and baking. Her fruitcake was a specialty that she shared with her daughters. Her chocolate chip cookies were the best. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Ernest Morris, children, Michelle Portwood, Tim Morris and Ricky Morris, siblings, Glennis Bland, Eugene Hodges and Donald Hodges.

Survivors Include:

 Daughters: Cara Bullard (Melvin) and Theresa Akins

 Sisters: Vivian Colson, Ann Seals, and Wynelle Hampton

Brothers: Alvin Hodges (Sharon) and Wendall Hodges (Phyllis)

Host of Grandchildren, Great-Grandchildren, and Great-Great Grandchildren including Brittany Portwood, Rachel Bray, and Carol Stone
