Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of  Mr. John B. Moore, age 89, of Adrian, GA, on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Sam Adkins officiating and Rev. Ervin Stapleton assisting.

Interment will follow in Lambs Cemetery with Rev. Conway Jones officiating.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2019.  

Pallbearers are Mitchell Moore, David Moore, Thomas Sconyers, Keith Wright, Ricky Henry, and Ronnie Spikes.

Honorary Pallbearers are Mark Wright, Joey Wright, Gerald Edenfield and Deacons of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church.

Mr. Moore was born October 24, 1930 in Adrian, Emanuel County, GA to the late Meedy and Thelma Peebles Moore. He was a member of the Sardis Primitive Baptist Church. Through the years he worked at King Mill in Augusta, GA for 15 years, he was a security guard for PTR and Roper, and retired as a school bus driver. He loved farming and making cane syrup. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Marjorie Moore, one sister, Christine Wright, and two brothers, Lewis Moore and M.G. Moore.

His Wife: Janice Tapley Moore of Soperton, GA

His Daughter: Connie Sue Johnson (Alan) of Adrian, GA

His Son: John “Johnny” M. Moore (Becky) of Adrian, GA

Four Grandchildren: Jessica Shurling (Jonathan) of Adrian, GA, Paige Ross (Will) of Swainsboro, GA, Nicole Moore of Kite, GA, and John Ashley Johnson (Jessica) of Norristown, GA.

Six Great-Grandchildren

 Nieces, Nephews, and Extended Family.
