Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Joan Bishop Funderburk, age 84, of Swainsboro, GA on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at Community Hospice in Vidalia, GA.
Graveside services will be Friday, August 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Hines Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Phil Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM in the Hines Baptist Church.
Mrs. Funderburk was born November 11, 1935 in Summertown, Emanuel County, GA to the late Arthur Manson and Myra Lee Snellgrove Bishop. She loved floral arranging, and cross stitching, her pieces were works of art that she enjoyed sharing with those close to her. Mrs. Funderburk was a member of the Emanuel County Senior Center and the Hines Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles E. Funderburk Sr.; son, Charles “Eddie” Funderburk Jr.; sister, Grace Fagler; and brothers, Edward Bishop and Arthur Bishop Jr.
Survivors include:
Daughters: Susan Jones of Louisville, GA and Amy Dubois (Michael Bolton) of Swainsboro, GA
Grandchildren: Heather Jenkins (Scott), David Frost (Samantha), Tiffany Gauthier (Nick), Kelley Frost, Amber Fagler (Todd), Kristen Dubois (Sam) and Hunter Bolton (Kaley).
Great-Grandchildren: Brack Fagler, Brody Fagler, Randon Durden, Emmalin Durden, Brantley Fagler, Melissa Mullis, Marina Gauthier, Lyla Gauthier, Everett Frost, Kirsten Bolton, Kennedy Bolton, and Jackson Bolton.
Sister-In-Law, Frances Walden; Brother-In-Law, Bobby Faglier; family friend, Betty Annette Reynolds; nieces, nephews, and extended family.
