Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. Jerome Edward Waller Sr., age 90, of Swainsboro, on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at Emanuel Medical Center.
Graveside Services will be Monday, May 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Jack whitehead officiating with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday Morning from 10:00 AM till time of service.
Mr. Waller was born May 20, 1928 in Wrightsville, Johnson County, GA to the late Frank and Ethel Downs Waller. He retired after 40 plus years from the Georgia Department of Transportation as a Resident Highway Engineer. Mr. Waller adored his family and loved spending time with them. After retirement he enjoyed spending time outdoors and gardening. He was of the Baptist faith and in addition to his parents was preceded in death by his Wife of 69 years, Lois Caraway Waller; Son, Jerome "Jerry" Edward Waller Jr. ,and sister Joyce Tidmore.
Survivors include:
One Daughter: Connie Sconyers (Carl) of Twin City, GA
One Sister: Beni Sturcken of FL
One Brother: Jack Waller (Susie) of Alma, GA
Two Grandchildren: Thomas Ryan Sconyers (Amy) and Carla Hope Riner (Erick).
Four Great-Grandchildren: Emily Riner, Lauren Riner, London Riner, Lydia Sconyers, nieces, nephews and extended family.
