Jean (Wilkerson) Sheppard

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Jean Wilkerson Sheppard, age 72, of Twin City, GA, on Thursday, June 10, 2021 at her residence.

Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, June 13, 2021 at 2pm in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Rev. Dale Wilkerson and Rev. Bert Flanders officiating.          

Interment will be in the Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 5-7:00 pm at Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors.

Pallbearers are Travis Akridge, Roy Rachles, Roy Wilkerson, Bobby “Jr.” Wilkerson, LaRon Wilkerson, and LaDon Wilkerson

Mrs. Sheppard was born in Portal, Georgia to the late Roy Thomas and Willie Maude Arnold Wilkerson. She attended school in Portal. Mrs. Sheppard loved singing karaoke and line dancing. She also loved and adored her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Larry L. Sheppard Sr.; a sister, Kathryn Garvin; four brothers, Roy Thomas Wilkerson, Jr., Robert Wilkerson, James Thomas Wilkerson, Bobby Ray Wilkerson and her parents.

Survivors Include:

Daughter: Pam Akridge (Chris) of Twin City, GA.

Sons: Larry Sheppard, Jr. (Barbara) of Dublin, GA. and Steven L. Sheppard (Lily) of Statesboro, GA.

Sisters: Vera Henderson of Swainsboro, GA, Minnie Lanier of Millen, GA, Diane Strickland of Canoochee, GA and Brenda Coleman of Canoochee, GA.

Grandchildren: Carissa Paul (James), Moriah Dunn (Nik), Makayla Million (Jordan), Steven Sheppard Jr., and Blake Akridge.

Great Grandchildren: Aubrie Paul, Alisa Paul, Caden Paul, and Laelyn Dunn.
