Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Jean Lovette Proctor Rainey, age 94, of Twin City, GA, on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Emanuel Medical Center Nursing Home.
Private graveside services will be conducted at El Bethel Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Ben Gay officiating.
Pallbearers will be John Proctor, Michael Wilkes, David Rainey, Chris Rainey, Anthony Rainey and James Reyes.
Honorary Escort will be Jim Canady.
Born in Long County in 1925, she was the daughter of James and Madge Sanders Lovette. Mrs. Rainey retired from Metter Nursing Home and was of the Methodist faith. She loved sewing, reading and gardening. Jean loved working with the earth and outdoors and there was not anything green that she could not grow. She loved all of her children and grandchildren dearly.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel Webster Proctor and her second husband, Virgil Cecil Rainey, Sr.; two step-daughters, Katie Dean and Bonnie Proctor; Sons, Lloyd Proctor, Virgil Rainey, Jimmy Elton Proctor, Jimmy Proctor and Wayne Allen Proctor; Sisters, Frances Hickman and Nettie Mae Collson; Three Brothers, Elzie, Ed and Lloyd Lovette, and a half brother, Archie Lovette.
Survivors Include:
Three Daughters: Edith Gavidia (Felix) of Miami, FL, Rita Lindsey of Swainsboro, GA and Donna White of Twin City, GA.
Sons: Danny Proctor of Swainsboro, GA, Gene Rainey (Rebecca) of Twin City, GA
Thirty-Four Grandchildren, Eighteen Great-Grandchildren, Three Great-Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great-Great Grand.
