Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. James “Buddy” Carter, age 80, of Adrian, GA, on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin, Georgia.
Graveside services will be conducted at Lamb’s Cemetery on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim Price officiating.
CDC social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are encouraged for your safety and the health and well being of others.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Carter, Kyle Carter, Jason Moore, Kevin Moore, Adam Foxworth and Mitchell Moore.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Hugh McLendon, Billy Newsome, Nick Alfonso, Al Scott, Charles Rowland and Johnny Moore.
Born in Soperton Georgia, James was the son of the late Carlos and Kate Reese Carter. James was a U.S. Army Veteran and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed giving to the community and would cook turkeys to give away on Thanksgiving and Christmas. For 35 years, “Buddy” organized and hosted the Haunted Trail in Norristown. After retiring from Forstman Textile, with 43 years of service, he and his son worked together with Carter’s Rock “In” Rides. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and riding dirt roads. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Carlene Snell and Barbara Hudson; and a brother, Harry Carter.

Wife of 57 years: Celestine Moore Carter of Adrian, GA.
Daughter: Vickie Carter of Adrian, GA.
Son: Ricky Carter (Sheila) of Vidalia, GA.
Numerous Nieces, nephews, and extended family
