Jacqueline "Jackie" Hopkins Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Clifton Hopkins, 83, of Twin City, Georgia, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Piedmont Augusta Hospital, surrounded by the love of those who cherished her most.

Born on June 8, 1943, in Flowery Branch, Georgia, Jackie lived a life defined by faith, unconditional love, compassion, and quiet strength. She had a gentle heart, a warm smile that made others feel welcome, and a way of making everyone she met feel like family. To know Jackie was to know kindness, grace, and unwavering love.

Jackie dedicated many years of service to the Emanuel County Tax Assessor's Office, where she was respected for her hard work, integrity, and caring spirit. She believed in treating others with kindness and carried that belief throughout every chapter of her life.

Above all else, Jackie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her greatest joy came from her family. Whether celebrating holidays, sharing stories around the table, or simply spending time together, she treasured every moment with those she loved. She was the steady heart of her family—the one who offered encouragement, wisdom, and unconditional love without expecting anything in return.

Her journey with Parkinson's disease never defined her. Instead, it revealed her remarkable courage, resilience, and faith. Even through life's many challenges, Jackie continued to inspire those around her with her strength, determination, and grace.

She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Myra Galloway and Marion Durden (Don); her sons, Brent Clifton (Dena) and Keith Clifton (Brenda); her daughter, Abby Veettil (Praseed); her stepdaughter, Penny Jones; her beloved grandchildren, Chrisie Hall, Kyla McClure, Tiffany Oliver (Timmy), Rhett Clifton (Morgan), Chris Clifton, Keely Shay Overstreet, Anna Beach (Coy), Christi Womack, and Amber Henry (Matt); her step-grandchildren, Amanda Jones and Stephanie Richardson; along with many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever touched by her love.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Carlton Denton; her mother, Mildred Lurene Gillespie; her husbands, Gene Clifton and Wayne Hopkins; her brother, Gary Denton; and her sister, Paulette Stripland.

Her greatest legacy was not found in what she owned or accomplished, but in the family she loved so completely and the values she instilled in each of them. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Jackie was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church, where her love for the Lord guided her throughout her life. Her faith was her foundation, and she found peace and comfort in God's promises. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, unwavering faith, and a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Jackie is now healed, at peace, and reunited with loved ones who have gone before her. Her love will remain in our hearts forever, and her memory will continue to be a blessing to all who knew her.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Peebles Curry Memorial Chapel.

Interment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research in honor of Jackie's courageous journey with Parkinson's disease.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
