Jackie (Hopkins) Curl

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Jackie Curl, age 77, of Swainsboro, GA, on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Augusta University Medical Center.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 3:00 PM in the Peebles-Curry Memorial Chapel with Elder Mike Newman officiating.

Interment will follow at Eastbrook Cemetery and Mausoleum

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers are: Andy Johnson, Cassidy Johnson, Sam English, Joe Canady, Thomas Douglas, and Bert Stewart.

Honorary Escorts are Men of Swainsboro United Primitive Baptist Church.

Mrs. Curl was born January 7, 1943 in Swainsboro, Emanuel County, GA to the late Lorene Hayes and Jack Hopkins. She was a secretary and retired from Department Corrections Probation Detention Center.  She was a very active member of Swainsboro United Primitive Baptist Church. She loved reading and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, Daniel Johnson, her second husband, Bobby Curl, her son, Gary Johnson, her sister, Ann McDaniel, and her brother, Wayne Hopkins.

Her Daughter: Sheila Williams (Jim) of Edisto, SC

Her Sons: Dennis Johnson (Randa) of Swainsboro, GA and Derwin Johnson (Ninette) of Twin City, GA

Her Daughter-In-Law: Dianne Johnson of Twin City, GA

Her Sister: Janice Stewart (Sammy) of Swainsboro, GA

Her Brother-In-Law: Dale McDaniel of Soperton, GA

Her Sister-In-Law: Jackie Hopkins of Twin City, GA

Her Grandchildren: Tiffany Murphy, Jessica English (Sam), Andy Johnson (Jessica), Heather Canady (Joe), Valerie Douglas (Thomas), Cassidy Johnson (Heather), Brandon Johnson, and Danielle Johnson.
