J. R. McCoy

Durden –Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mr. J. R. McCoy, age 66, of Swainsboro, GA, on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at his residence.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Williams Chapel Church in Kite, GA with Rev. Lamar Kersey, Rev. Arthur Conley and Rev. Burt Flanders officiating.

Mr. McCoy will be in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Interment will be in Wheeler Cemetery in Kite, GA.

Pallbearers are:  Casey Dolph, Brandon Henry, Blake Henry, Jeremy Hopkins, Ryan Jackson and Gary McDaniel.

Mr. McCoy was was born September 19, 1951, in Kite, Johnson County, GA to the late Lawton and Pauline Averett McCoy.  He was a Mechanic and worked in Construction.  Mr. McCoy was a Baptist and loved playing his guitar and singing.  In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Chadwick Heath McCoy, and a sister, Joyce McCoy.

One Son:  Bradley Cole McCoy (Christy) of Swainsboro, GA

Three Sisters:  Gail Brantley, Janice Dolph, and Beverley Stapleton all of Kite, GA

Two Brothers:  David McCoy of Swainsboro, GA and Stanley McCoy (Elizabeth) of Griffin, GA

Three Grandchildren:  Dakota McCoy, Dalton McCoy and Chirsten McCoy all of Swainsboro, GA
